Planting the Big Garden

In the front yard my landlord generously allowed me to stake out a plot about 200 square feet. Matt and I flipped sod back in April, then added compost. Once we got an 8-foot fence up to keep the deer out of the Big Garden, it was time to plant!

Here I am watering some tomato transplants

And Matt planting zucchini

There's also bell pepper plants, and from seed: snap peas, carrots, and radishes. ¡Buena suerte, plantitas! (Good luck, little plants!)

Planting the Little Garden

I have a 6' by 7' bed in the back yard. It is a little shaded for sun-loving veggies, but today I planted broccoli, spinach, and herbs (mint, rosemary, and thyme). They would do better in the sun, but these long-suffering veggies will hopefully grow despite the shade. Wish them luck...
